siderurgica<\/strong> \u00e8 la branca della metallurgia coinvolta nella produzione di metalli sotto diverse forme. In particolare, la <strong>siderurgia<\/strong> si occupa della trasformazione di minerali ad alto contenuto di ferro in ghisa e acciaio.<\/p><p>Una volta estratti dalle miniere, il processo di lavorazione dei materiali ferrosi ha inizio nello stabilimento siderurgico. Essendo il ferro un elemento considerevolmente reattivo, si pu\u00f2 trovare in natura generalmente in forma di ossidi, idrossidi, carbonati, silicati e solfuri.<\/p><p>Il principale apparato utilizzato in siderurgia per la produzione di ghisa grigia \u00e8 l\u2019altoforno. Questo impianto viene caricato con una miscela di coke, calcare e minerali di ferro, le alte temperature in gioco, unite alle reazioni chimiche che si innescano tra gli ossidi presenti nei minerali ferrosi ed il carbonio del coke, permettono la formazione della ghisa grigia fusa. Da questo elemento \u00e8 poi possibile ottenere l\u2019acciaio mediante diversi processi produttivi. In ogni caso qualunque procedimento di produzione di acciaio da ghisa d\u2019altoforno consiste nell\u2019asportare dalla ghisa il carbonio in eccesso e le altre impurit\u00e0
