solventi. Tutti questi prodotti sono sostanzialmente derivati dalla raffinazione del petrolio greggio.<\/p><p>Tutto il processo ha inizio con la perforazione del manto terrestre atta a raggiungere i giacimenti di greggio, da qui in poi il petrolio viene estratto e convogliato in oleodotti o stoccato in appositi serbatoi. Allo stato naturale il petrolio non ha impieghi pratici, ma dalla sua raffinazione si ottengono materiali fondamentali per la vita di tutti i giorni come i combustibili che alimentano la maggior parte dei nostri mezzi di trasporto. La seconda fase produttiva prevede la separazione del petrolio greggio nei suoi componenti costituenti. Questo passaggio viene eseguito in appositi stabilimenti detti raffinerie, strutture industriali molto complesse. La distillazione del petrolio \u00e8 il primo passo del processo di raffinazione. I prodotti di risulta, a grandi linee, sono gas, benzina, cherosene, gasolio, oli e bitume.<\/p><p>Queste materie saranno poi trattate dall\u2019industria petrolchimica e chimica per essere trasformate nei beni di consumo che ci accompagnano nella vita di tutti i
